Dentistry in India

Dentistry in india is moving at a very slow pace. The awareness about dental problems in india is not like the neighbouring countries. That's why lot of dental camps are organized and dental health is promoted in some or the other way to make people aware of the importance of taking care of there teeth.

Oral habits in india are very common, and hence, a lot of potential in getting to see lot of patient flow, but then the people aren't aware about the preventive measures and hence, the dental awareness is needed to be there and hence, promotion of dental health is needed by, distributing tooth pastes and tooth brushes, by organizing dental camps and reaching out to the people and providing them dental education and helping them learn how to take care of there teeth.

And also promoting vast range of dental products, like toothpastes, toothbrushes and dental floss, for them to take care of there teeth and advising them to brush twice daily.

Then there are some environmental factors like the fluoride intake, which may be sometimes more or less in the water and consumption of which causes adverse effects if taken more than prescribed or not at all. Fluoride more then 1 ppm (parts per million) can affect the teeth and less than that can affect the dental health too. Hence, precautions are taken too with regards to the usage of fluoride.

At the same time rural areas have no access to the dental clinics and hence, dental health is affected more in such areas than the urban areas.

But, sooner or later, things will change as more and more awareness is spread through dental camps.
